If you’ve ever stared at your curly hair shelf wondering why nothing seems to work the way it should, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too. Trying product after product, reading ingredient labels I couldn’t pronounce, feeling frustrated with frizz, and still ending up with flat or fluffy results.
So when I started testing out Jessicurl’s full range, I knew I wanted to give you a clear, supportive breakdown. What works, what doesn’t, and what’s worth sampling, especially if you’ve got fine or low-density curls like mine.
This review includes:
- How each product feels and performs
- My real results (including side-by-side tests)
- Who I think each product is best for
- Simple tips for working them into your routine
Let’s break it all down.

Jessicurl Product Overview
Jessicurl is a curly-focused line with a clean ingredient list, multiple fragrance-free options, and an emphasis on moisture and gentle styling.
What makes them stand out:
- No silicones, sulfates, or drying alcohols
- Fragrance-free options for sensitive skin 🙌
- Concentrated formulas so a little goes a long way
- Most products come in sample sizes you can test first
I tried 6 of their top sellers:
- Clarifying Shampoo
- Gentle Lather Shampoo
- Aloeba Daily Conditioner
- Rockin’ Ringlets Styling Potion
- Confident Coils Styling Solution
- Spiralicious Styling Gel
Some were instant wins. A few didn’t work for my routine. But I’ll walk you through all of it.
Jessicurl offers free sample packs – you just cover shipping.
If you’re curious about a few products but don’t want to commit to full sizes yet, I highly recommend grabbing the sample option and using this post as your guide.
What Worked (Pros of Each Product)
Clarifying Shampoo
- Gives your hair a clean slate without over-drying
- Great for removing product buildup and hard water residue
- Works well once or twice a month when your hair feels off
My take: Not harsh at all. Leaves my hair feeling refreshed and resets my routine when needed.
Gentle Lather Shampoo
- Lightweight cleanser with a soft creamy lather
- Doesn’t strip natural oils
- Fragrance-free and easy to spread
My take: Too mild for me as a regular shampoo, but nice for in-between reset washes.
Aloeba Daily Conditioner
- Creamy texture with just enough moisture
- Easy to detangle with, without weighing hair down
- Protein-free and fragrance-free
My take: A good middle-of-the-road option. Moisturizing but light, and it didn’t leave my hair feeling coated.
Rockin’ Ringlets Styling Potion
- Flaxseed-based curl enhancer
- Helps add spring and softness
- Very lightweight – best used under a gel
My take: Great for definition, but not enough hold on its own for my hair type. Pair it with Spiralicious.
Confident Coils Styling Solution
- Creamier than Rockin’ Ringlets and provides more hold
- Glycerin-free, which makes it better in humidity
- Moisturizing without feeling greasy or heavy
My take: One of my top picks. Paired with Spiralicious, this gave me more definition and less frizz all day long.
Spiralicious Styling Gel
- Strong hold that lasts through humidity and long days
- Polyquat-based so it acts like a barrier but washes out easily
- Doesn’t flake or feel sticky if you use the right amount
My take: This is a regular in my routine now. I love the bounce and definition it gives, especially when applied on very wet hair.
Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel
Probably the best gel for humidity and most people seem to really love their results using it. It works on all curl types too so it won’t weigh down fine curls if you don’t use too much.

Want to see exactly how these work on my hair?
I’ve got a full video showing side-by-side styling with Rockin’ Ringlets vs. Confident Coils layered with Spiralicious – plus next-day results.
What Didn’t Work (Cons + Cautions)
- Gentle Lather Shampoo: Too weak for my oily scalp. I had to wash more often.
- Rockin’ Ringlets: Too light as a solo styler and didn’t hold up well in humidity unless layered.
- Spiralicious: Can feel heavy or build up over time if you use too much. Less is more.
My Overall Opinion
If you’re building a curl routine or looking for lighter, fragrance-free products, Jessicurl is worth trying.
The real winners for me were Confident Coils and Spiralicious. Together, they gave me bouncy, defined curls with way less frizz – even on humid days.
The shampoos and conditioner are great if your hair tends to get dry or easily weighed down. And the samples are a great way to test without guessing.

Compare to Alternatives
- Innersense: Most products are heavier, more expensive. Great for dry or thick hair.
- Evolvh: Lighter but less moisturizing.
- Curlsmith: Offers different hold levels but most products are heavily fragranced.
- Ouidad: More moisturizing overall.
